[squid-users] Squid+IP chains ---> No working Java chats.

Hi!

I'm using a linux box to do masquerading. I installed squid in that machine,
and do very few modifications to the squid.conf file (only the ACL, and the
cache size/memory). The thing is: When I have the proxy configured on
Netscape or Internet explorer, almost any Java chat hangs after very few
moments (off course, if there is more that one Java chat session in the
private network), I remove the proxy configuration ---> it starts working just
fine. I tried to do transparent proxying, by redirecting the 80 port to the
squid port, it worked, but the Java chats still hangs.

Had anyone has this problem? What can I be doing wrong?

I'm using kernel 2.2.19 and squid 2.2.5 (the one that comes with debian), I
have also tried with Mandrake 8.0 (don't remember the version number). Right
now I'm downloading the 2.4 version, but I'm not sure.

Any suggestion? Any ideas?

Sincerely,

Ildefonso Camargo
