Hi All,

I found anomaly condition of my WCCP system that has run very normally for 1 year. I don't know it is because of router or Squid (I like to say as "cache engine" -> CE).

Last few weeks, we upgraded bandwidth and added links (before I only have 1 link that use 1st serial). The new link is used for VoIP application (closed network) attach to 2nd serial

My system config:

Cisco 2610 (standard), IOS 12.0(7), Squid 2.3S4 + RH 6.2 (2.2.19)

Serials IP: 111.222.333.444 (for 1st serial) and 555.666.777.888 (for 2nd
serial)
Ethernet IP: aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
CE (Squid) IP: eee.fff.ggg.hhh

Within last 2-3 days, my WCCP becomes unusable with report as below. Then I tried to gather more information from router side, I found a strange situation.

Router reports the "Assigned Hash Info" value as "0" (usually it was so many "F" -> 256?) and the router identifier as 2nd serial IP (usually it is the Ethernet IP). It is very abnormal, because 2nd serial is linked to closed network (VoIP application).

FYI, I did not change ANY settings of "squid.conf" and IOS except adding 2nd serial IP and static routing for the closed network. Squid is also running well. If I add the Squid address and port into browser setting, it is OK. After restarting Squid, WCCP back to normal, but problem happen again after running in certain time (12 hours)

Does someone have experience for that problem? Your answer is very appreciated and waited for. Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Awie
