$ ps ax | grep squid

You should get a list with all the squid processes running

$ kill -9 <PID>

Where <PID> is the process number of the Squid process.

There are more elegant ways to do this, but I think you need just to stop
Squid for whatever reason. Commands like ps and kill should be well worn
and in your toolbox in the not-too-distant future.
