[squid-users] squid and https

Hi all,

I posted this already in the NG m.u.s. but I fear nobody can read it
there. So if nobody knows an answer then sorry for bugging you all, by
reposting this :)

Anyway, I think the problem could have something to do with my SSL
key. I generated it with OpenSSL and when I start squid, it asks me
for the passcode; after entering it, squid runs. Could it be that,
although squid is running and accepting initial hhtps-requests, it
later on falls back to http (maybe because the encryption does not
work properly)? But these are new thoughts, here's the original
posting:

Hi all,

I'm running squid 2.5 in accelerator mode and configured it to be
ssl-enabled. Now I am able to connect to the proxy via https and squid
also connects me with the accelerated host, but unfortunately the
connection isn't secure anymore. As I understood it should work like:

client <-- https --> squid <-- http --> accel_host

So what I enter in my browser is:

https://a.b.c.d/test.html

where a.b.c.d is the ip-address of the squid and test.html is a page
on my accel_host. I get the page, but the url in the browser now shows

http://a.b.c.d/test.html

Any ideas what's going wrong there?

Best regards and thanks in advance for your help, Peter.
