I copied the command line directly from the configuration file,
excluding "auth_param basic program". The command is:
 
squid_ldap_auth -b ou=nlm,o=nih -s sub -h 130.14.123.19 -f
'(&(objectClass=person)(uid=%s))'

I don't manage the Novell servers, so I'm not sure exactly what their
setup is, but I've used this filter for several other applications.

Can you give me an example of how the commandline looks like when you
test squid_ldap_auth ?? and are you using the GWIA from novell ???
