Hello,

have installed the latest stable version (2.5ST1) and
wanted to use the NTLM Authenticaion - without success.

When I test "ntlm_auth" on the command line I get always
"BH Helper detected protocol error" - regardless what
userid/password I try.

############
root@it-hdesk /usr/local/squid/bin >./ntlm_auth -d
users/de-raub-users2.hygiene.sca.se
ntlm-auth[7937](ntlm_auth.c:187): Adding domain-controller
users/de-raub-users2.hygiene.sca.se
ntlm-auth[7937](ntlm_auth.c:460): options processed OK

ntlm-auth[7937](ntlm_auth.c:284): managing request
ntlm-auth[7937](ntlm_auth.c:290): ntlm authenticator. Got '' from Squid
ntlm-auth[7937](ntlm_auth.c:440): sending 'BH Helper detected protocol
error' to squid
BH Helper detected protocol error
##############

The squid.conf file seems to be ok. At least "squid -k parse"
doesn't return any errors.

##############
auth_param ntlm program /usr/local/squid/bin/ntlm_auth users/10.80.8.72
auth_param ntlm children 5
acl ntauth proxy_auth REQUIRED
http_access allow ntauth

With "smb_auth" everything works fine.

Has anybody an idea?

Best regards
