[squid-users] DNS Lookups and Multiple NICs

Two simple questions:

1. First off, say I have a client PC that does not have any DNS server
entries in its TCP/IP configuration. If it tries to visit www.xyz.com,
where is the DNS query performed? On the server running Squid or on the
client PC? Is whatever Squid does the standard that all proxy servers
do?

2. I have 3 separate networks each using completely different IP,
Subnet, and Gateway setups. If I create a server with 4 NICs, one on
each of the 3 networks, and 1 having an IP which is real and on the
Internet, can this machine running Squid act as my Internet Proxy server
for all machines in the office to get online? Or would I have to have 3
totally different machines to do this?

Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated!!!
