[squid-users] squid proxy engine

Dear Squid users,

Currently I use Apache 2 proxy engine and Apache
caching feature to implement
reverse proxy service. This is based on Apache's
ProxyPass and
ProxyPassReverse directives and Cache* stuff.

Example for a VirtualHost:
    "ProxyPass /
http://myserver.domain.com:7100/new/"

This is used to accelerate hundreds of sites (web
servers) sitting
behind it and performance and stability is an issue
(10 million of
hits).

I'm wondering how squid would compare to the Apache
proxy engine
feature/performance wise?

thank you
