Hello,

I can't use msn messenger 5.0 by configuring it's proxy settings... I'm sure
I wrote the right values there (proxy, port, HTTP Proxy, user, password). So
I'm checking for some config into squid. I'll describe my environment...
Maybe someone can help me.

I'm running on RedHat 7.2, Squid Cache Version 2.4 Stable.

My system has acl rules based on:

site names (dstdomain)
destiny ip's (dst)
time (time)
authentication (proxy_auth) - with pam_auth
source ip's (src)

I've tried to let my machine free for browsing (withouth user
authentication) with

http_access_allow MyMachine

but it still shows a logon box...

So I noticed at access.log that Squid reports a 407 error (Proxy
Authentication Required) and it doesn't show the User / Source

my_ip TCP_DENIED/407 1492 POST
http://gateway.messenger.hotmail.com/gateway/gateway.dll? - NONE/- -

when a POST operation is sucessfull, i get something like:

my_ip TCP_MISS/200 15466 POST
http://www.squid-cache.org/cgi-bin/swish-query.cgi my_user
DIRECT/206.168.0.9 text/html

Thanks,

Fernando
