[squid-users] continued log rotation problems ...

i'm still having problems with log rotation ...

overnight, my access.log was changed from access.log to access.log.1 and
squid continues to write to that file rather than to a new access.log

my /etc/logrotate.conf reads as follows:
/var/log/squid/access.log {
rotate 9
daily
mail kenn@thebytebusiness.com
postrotate
/sbin/killall -HUP syslogd
endscript
}

does anyone have any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
