Hello,

I am running 2.5.STABLE1-20030109, and I am have been having the following
problem since I upgraded to Squid 2.5S1:

When I wish to shut down the squid process, I issue a

cd /usr/local/squid/sbin
./squid -k shutdown

When I check the cache.log file, I have the following bizzare entries:

2003/02/17 16:03:02| Killing RunCache, pid 704
2003/02/17 16:03:02| kill 704: (1) Operation not permitted
2003/02/17 16:03:02| Preparing for shutdown after 28563004 requests

notice the "Operation not permitted"

For some reason, squid starts up again right away

It rebuilds a clean cache and they logs:

2003/02/17 16:05:31| commHandleWrite: FD 603: write failure: connection
closed with -1 bytes remaining.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance,

Ron
