This only applies if you have compiled Squid to use dnsserver. The
internal DNS client (the default) does not have any such issues.

But if you have compiled Squid with --disable-internal-dns to use
dnsserver then it is important that you have well more than sufficient
number of dnsserver helper processes running or else there will be
delays or even automatic restarts of Squid if the delay due to queued
requests waiting for a free dnsserver process gets too large.

My recommendation is to just use the internal DNS client and forget
about the whole issue.
