[squid-users] Reverse proxy with content twiddling? :)

Hi :)

I have a customer with a small (256kbit) leased line, who is hosting a
site with loads of pictures, uploaded by agents on the road..
unfortunately they upload incredibly inefficient JPEGs (100% quality
setting!).

I'd like to use something which will act as a reverse proxy (as squid
does) but not to reduce system load on the server, but instead to
downsample the JPEGs, and perhaps gzip any HTML files to maximise the
use of the available bandwidth..

Is squid able to help here?

Cheers,
gdh
