To be more precise: Squid fails to start if it does not know the address
of at least one DNS server.

These servers may be specified via /etc/resolv.conf or via squid.conf.

The nameservers needs to be known when Squid starts. If you change the
list of name servers then you need to at least issue a "squid -k
reconfigure".

Note: Most ISPs have static addresses on the name servers so you should
be able to just configure the nameservers statically in squid.conf.
