  Some issues to check & verify :

  - Make sure mrtg uses snmp port as specified in squid.conf.

  - For mrtg you need to 'load' the squid mib in mrtg's conf file as in
:

LoadMIBs: /what_ever_path.../squid.mib

  - Check squid's cache.log , if it isn't working, watch for errors
  related to snmp.
