I would think cache.log would be more relevant, also try setting
'debug_options ALL,3' in squid.conf for a few minutes to see what is
happening. These debug options will chew up disk space, so remember to
change back after you fix the problem. Details should be in cache.log.

I keep getting this error in /var/log/messages I am running squid
STABLE2.5-1 on Red Hat 8.0

directory Apr 28 12:33:59 linux squid[6020]: Squid Parent: child process 0

exited with status 1 Apr 28 12:33:59 linux squid[6020]: Exiting due to
repeated, frequent failures

Any help appreciated
