	DNS < 1 second average is high?  How do you figure?  
I asked what 'normal' performance figures for bind were on
the bind list and was told that no one had such numbers.  I 
was running bind8 at the time and was told there was a script
under bind9 that could measure things on a gross level (I wanted
a breakdown of times: user request, cache miss/failure, if lookup,
a breakdown of each of the sub-lookups...return time to user...).
	If I'm looking up www.cnn.com and nothing is in my bind cache,
first I have to go to the root servers to find who is authoritative
for "com", then contact one of them to find out who speaks 
for "cnn" -- then contact that server, to find out about 'www' --
that's 3 separate requests.   The first request alone to one of the
root servers is likely to take a second, no?  Then there's the
root servers for all of 'com', they'd likely be busy too, no?  Then
I get to the DNS server for the site.  
	Doesn't the .7 mean 700ms?  Just a ping is usually over
100 ms for most hosts.  If it has to process a request, it seems
700ms would be good or am I missing something?
