by the way, I compile squid with -pg option for profiler.
I can see

41.98 54.69 54.69 226953 240.98 240.98 storeDirCallback
40.27 107.16 52.47 storeDiskdDirCallback

These two functions are taking more times. First column means
" % the percentage of the total running time of the
time program used by this function."

What's your opinion ?

You have a very large cache_mem.. is this intentional?

It may cause your Squid server to start using swap, which will degrade
performance significantly.
