Ok...

Here's what I did:

1. I compiled the 3.0 code base of squid.

2. I followed the directions you listed below.

For 3.0 do I need to add my accelerated hosts to /etc/hosts ??

The ip of the proxy box is: 137.197.155.102

Here's what I have in my config file:

http_port 80 accel vhost defaultsite=info.unmc.edu

in the acl section I have:

acl HTTP proto HTTP
acl port80 80
acl domains_server1 dstdomain info.unmc.edu
cache_peer 192.198.54.13 parent 80 0 no-query originserver name=server1
cache_peer_access server1 allow domains_server1
http_access allow HTTP port80 domains_server1

In the access log it's trying to retrieve itself when I try to hit
137.197.155.102 with a browser.
