Re: [squid-users] Squid authentication from ADS to linux proxy server(squid)

Not necessarily on topic but i have got a similar problem. My
Proxyserver is still using smb_auth to authenticate clients from W9x to
W2K against a Domain Controller. We have a domain in NT4 compatibility
mode. Is it possible to use ntlm_auth (on a Linux box) to authenticate
against a W2K domain controller ? And if so, what if we switch to W2K
only mode ? I guess authetication won't work any longer.

For testing issues i ran squid 2.5 with ntlm_auth on my W2K workstation
which belongs to our domain. It was possible to allow and deny users
access to the internet by adding them to the specified group. My
question would be if this works if squid runs on a linux box (or *BSD or
whatever) ?

Thanks in Advance.

P.S. smb_auth works fine, but i would prefer a single sign on solution
(yes, we use IE)
