[squid-users] configure command on squid 3.0PRE3

Hello again!

Because i'm having problems with squid 2.5STABLE4, i thought i would try v3
to see if i get the same problem.
I am trying to compile it on suse 8.0, and with the following:

./configure --sbindir=/usr/sbin --enable-ssl --enable-snmp
--datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/run
--bindir=/bin

(which is the same command line as i was using with 2.5STABLE4
it fails with states:

checking for C++ compiler default output... configure: error: C++ compiler
cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for lib/libTrie

gcc -v gives:

Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-suse-linux/2.95.3/spec
gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)

and i have been able to compile squid 2.5STABLE4 on the same machine!
what's going on?
