You posted this same question yesterday. You didn't get an answer
because you provided no useful information - the only detail you gave
is:

If you're having problems installing Samba, you should ask the Samba
list. However, they won't be able to help you either unless you
provide more information:

1) The exact ./configure line you used
2) More clarification on what you mean by "samba does not seem
installed"

That will get you started; if the Samba list needs more information
they'll ask for it.

Check the Samba website (www.samba.org) - they may have one for your
distribution.
