Dear all,
I have Squid Cache: Version 2.4.STABLE7 installed with pppd since I use dial
up.

Problem:
Many times squid just "hangs". In access.log, there is no internet activity at
all, only some denyings for certain program (gator, statsmachine, etc :
1070252680.505 1 Nani.sistek.kom TCP_DENIED/403 1088 GET
http://gatorcme.gator.com/gatorcme/autoupdate/installprecisiontime.exe -
NONE/- -)

Usual solutions: I kill the pppd and start it again. Then squid will resume
operation again.

Questions:
1. What is exactly wrong? Is it with squid?
2. What is the best tune up in squid.conf for dial-up connection?

Many thanks,
