when i trying to install epoll-lib-0.11.tar.gz

i get following error :

Makefile:76: .depend: No such file or directory
mkdep -f .depend -g -I- -I./include
-I/usr/src/linux-2.6.1/include -DUNIX -D_DEBUG
./src/epoll.c
make: mkdep: Command not found
make: *** [.depend] Error 127

searching for .depend in system i found that .depend
files only present with kernel 2.4.20-8 and not with
kernel 2.6.1 :(
