The Squid server is HTTP-pinged. squidclient sends the given HTTP request
to the Squid server and measures the response time. The first request is
most likely a cache miss, the second and onwards request cache hits.

It is not the same as a ICMP ECHO request (the ping command), but named
"ping" from the similarity with the ping command used for sending ICMP
ECHO requests.
