[squid-users] Squid + Active Directory - Need to allow Windows Update and SSL

Hi Guys, This is the first time I have ever posted on a mailing list so I
hope I have done it correctly.

We currently have Squid 2.5 Stable5 installed on Redhat 7.2.

I have setup Samba 3, Kerberos, Winbind, PAM and squid to authenticate with
my active directory. (Via the helpers)

Here are my questions..

1. I have searched through the mailing list data, and can't get a clear
answer.
I want to be able to get Windwos update to run through the squid proxy.

At the moment I am getting the error after it searches for updates -

"Windows Update Error, windows update has encountered an error and cannot
display the requested page."
And their usual bull that tell you jack about the problem.

I have tried it without squid, and it works fine.

Anyone know how to setup squid to allow this?

I am a bit of a squid rookie.. So try to assume I know not too much.

2. SSL.
All I want it to do is pass on the SSL requests. Not use any certificate
etc. I just want the squid to connect the client directly with any SSL
address.

Can this be done?

Thanks
