Thanks for your info. This provides many, many information.
But what i want is only information between the authentication_program
and squid, say:

squid> Checking user U:P with helper
squid> Helper (1): ERR
squid> Checking user U:P with helper
squid> Helper (1): OK

So I can see: "Hey! My helper is not very happy"...

No, only on positive auth results.

debug_options ALL,1 29,9 84,9

then see cache.log for details on the auth progress.

Be warned that your logs will contain usernames+passwords in plain
text

when doing this.
