[squid-users] Squid encodes data - auth helper

Hi Folks,

Squid: 2.5 stable 6
Linux-2.6.9.

I found out when debugging that Squid HTML-encodes the username and
password before it pushes it into the Basic Auth helper. This seems to
shock my radius authenticator.

Squid cache-log shows:
2005/02/23 09:56:20| authenticateBasicDecodeAuth: cleartext =
'testuser:##$$'

And my helper logs the input:
User: |testuser| Password: |%23%23$$| Result: |ERR|

Now my question is: is this a bug or a feature, or do I need to decode
it in my sub-helper before i push it into the real helper?
When i insert the correct user by hand without %23%23 it works as
expected.

Regards, Janno.
