[squid-users] how does least-load work?

Hello,

I use multiple cache directories:

cache_dir diskd /mount/proxy 30000 64 256
cache_dir diskd /mount/proxy2 15000 32 256

with the default store_dir_select_algorithm (least-load). However I
noticed that the first cache_dir, is much more uset than the other one
(it's not 2:1 as I expected). How does squid compare the "load" on
cache_dir's? Does it count the number of waiting reads/writes? or the
response time?

Thanks for explanation
