[squid-users] upgrading squid

Salam List,
                 i am using squid-2.5STABLE3 on redhat Enterprise
Linux. my current squid version is RPM based .i downliad and comlie
squid-2.5STABLE9 with following option
 --prefix=/usr/local/squid --enable-delay-pools --enable-ssl
--enable-removal-policies=heap,lru
 cache dir in my old squid is cache_dir ufs /cache 40000 16 256
and i am using using same dir to new squid both squids set to listen
on http_port 8080 i stop squid-2.5STABLE3 process and try to run new
squid but its not starting and also not showing any thing in cache.log
even it did not create cache.log or any other log file in
/usr/local/squid/var/logs folder
please any help
