i have ran the command ulimit -HSn 8192 and then i ran the command
./configure ..... for the squid but still i can read the SQUIDMAX_FD to 1042
what could be the problem ?!

SQUID_MAXFD is automatically determined by configure by your ulimit
setting in the shell window where you ran configure.
