You are using the wrong ntlm_auth program. Ther is both a ntlm_auth
program shipped with Samba (which you should use) and a ntlm_auth program
shipped with squid (which you should ignore).

The Samba ntlm_auth is usually installed as /usr/bin/ntlm_auth on Fedora.
