[squid-users] squid deletes cache_dir objects randomly - is there no solution?

Hi

since v.12 squid empties without any reason the cache_dirs from time to time
I know of eventual related bug reports but I have lots of servers which run a
certain time and suddenly without any reason they start emptying the
cache_dirs.
the server is up for weeks
squid was not restarted and did not crash
memory use (RAM) is not interrupted and stays at top level 1 t 4G depending on
configuration
nobody even touched the console
all servers are FreeBSD 5.4R and some 6.0R and squid-12

any advice?
