I am running Squid-2.5STABLE12 on FreeBSD 6.0 (now 6.1-PRERELEASE) since
it was released. I am also running the same version on several FreeBSD
5.4 (now 5.5-PRERELEASE). All these for ages. No crashes!

All this time, I have tested both diskd and even aufs and I've not had
any crashes.

I'd like to take the challenge and setup Squid on your box. I am doing
this to counter your belief that this is anything to do with FreeBSD.

Shall we do this offlist, please? starting on a clean slate - a fresh
install - and moving from there?
