Very confusing. I guess the servers had the same conf? Same smb.conf,
nsswitch.conf, privileges on winbindd_privileged and both joind the Windows
Domain?

try this as last chance:
getent group
It my take a while befor reciving the gorup information. Did you get them with
thier members?
