[squid-users] File Blocking not working

Hi all

I'm running Squid 2.5 Stable 13 on Redhat 9

I've implemented file blocking but have noticed that it is not working
correctly

My config looks as follows :-

acl files url_regex -i "/usr/local/squid/etc/banned-files.txt"
acl workdays time M T W H F 07:00-17:00

http_access deny files workdays

Banned-files.txt looks like :-

\.mpeg$
\.mov$
\.mpg$
\.avi$
\.wmv$
\.mp3$

Now if I browse to http://www.cnn.com/test.avi I get the my error page
coming up saying Access restricted..which is great.

But if I try another site like http://www.is.co.za/test.avi the request
is not blocked.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening. I have no rule allowing
non restricted access to www.is.co.za domain

Many thanks

Hement
