Squid performance varies a lot depending on your hardware and deployment
scenario. Some Squids can do thousands of transactions per second
(hundreds of Mbits/sec). Others do hundreds of transactions per second
(tens of Mbits/sec). Yet others crawl at tens of transactions per second
due to slow disk caching or other reasons. Lower numbers are more
typical.

If you can provide specifics, somebody on the list may be able to post
numbers from a similar environment.

You can also benchmark a Squid prototype to get an estimate of its
performance on a given hardware, for a given configuration.
