half a transparent squid

Hi

I've been working on a transparent sqiid proxy (2.2s2) on sparc solaris
2.6
and ip filter 3.2.10. but can get it half working.

The local lan works great but other networks connected via leased line
with a separate class c assigned to them dont seem to be able to browse
at all, excpet for sites on my local web server.

My network:

  INTERNET ------ CISCO
                    |
                    |
           --------------------------
           | | |
         squid WWW server client

cisco: 192.168.0.1
squid: 192.168.0.2
www server: 192.168.0.3
client: 192.168.0.4 g/w set to 192.168.0.2

in this setup with the client pc, and squid on the same class c all is
fine and caching works
transparently.

With another lan hooked up using a different class (say 192.168.1.0)
connected either via
the cisco or via dialup into the main lan (192.168.0.0), browsing doesnt
work at all except for sites
hosted on my www server 192.168.0.3 (above) when i set the default
gateway to the squid.
With the gateway set to the cisco browsing works all the way but it is
not cached.

It sounds like a routing problem, but ftp, pings, traceroutes, mail and
all the rest work fine.

Any ideas - ive been cracking my brains at it

Thanks

Mark
