hi!,
My squid runs on a redhat 5.2 linux server. I start the squid through the init.d folder.
My squid file lies in /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid
and the configuration file in /etc/squid/squid.conf

While checking the squid status, I got this following error(the pid keeps changing)

# /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid status
squid (pid 974
982
984) is running...
squid: ERROR: Could not send signal 0 to process 668: (3) No such process

I can't stop the squid either (since it shows it's running) nor can i restart it. Previously, it was working fine and I even checked the squid and it's configuration file. Both seems ok!. Where's the error and how to fix it? Please someone help......

grateful,
neel
