Squid-2.3.STABLE1 blocking with internal DNS

I have just successfully downloaded and built 2.3.STABLE1 and have
found the same problem that existed in DEVEL3.

When using the internal DNS facilities, squid will not resolve any
addresses, rather the client will just sit and appear to freeze.

Reverse lookups for logging,acls etc are also not working.

I can get around this problem by reverting to the external dnsserver
processes but would rather not have to.

Any ideas please....

System is Sparc Ultra running Solaris 2.6
