I am trying to install the above on Solaris 2.6, but am coming up with numerous
problems surrounding libmiscutil.a!

When trying to compile I receive the following error :

/usr/bin/rm -f libmiscutil.a
/usr/bin/false r libmiscutil.a rfc1123.o rfc1738.o util.o getfullhostname.o
base64.o uudecode.o
splay.o safe_inet_addr.o iso3307.o snprintf.o md5.o radix.o
stub_memaccount.o Array.o Stack.o hash.o
*** Error code 255
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `libmiscutil.a'
Current working directory /squid-2.2.STABLE5/lib
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all'

I know that the false part means that configure cant find ar on my system, and I
know that the usual was around this is
to either prefix make with /usr/ccs/bin or to install binutils.

I installed binutils (what appeared to be the latest version from the GNU
website), and still had the problem, so I
added the prefix aswell, but still ended up getting no further.

Has anybody got any ideas?

Please!
