Well, the OP states he can connect, but not through the proxy. My guess
is that there is some other problem there. Either the site is not
publicly available, since no one from the outside is able to connect
(either through Squid or not) or some setting on the proxy is causing it
to resolve the site to the wrong address.

Can we get a look at your squid.conf, R. Scholten?
Can you a do traceroute from the proxy to the IP address.
Can you connect using squidclient?
Does nslookup on the proxy resolve the hostname to the correct IP
address?
